Not-Me! is a non-profit organization based in Arlington, MA dedicated to providing instruction, conditioning, and training to individuals in at-risk populations and TMAA is proud to recognize and recommend Not-Me! as a partner organization in our mutual corporate goals to bring training, empowerment, and opportunities to our mutual communities. Not-Me! recognizes a similar primary objective that our own Martial Arts Program (MAP) and Community Outreach Program (COP) shares: to help at-risk individuals survive violent attacks and deter aggressive confrontations. The majority of students are people in groups that are traditionally considered vulnerable or have been historically targeted for violence. These groups include but are not limited to people with physical disabilities, women, the gay and lesbian population, and racial minorities.
"Just as our own TMAA EZ-Defense With Pride training stresses the importance and utilization of the mental and emotional processes in self-defense and a series of steps to evaluate, recognize, and respond to escalating threat, the Not-Me! program does precisely the same thing" said Jim Gardner, International Program Director of TMAA. "We are very happy to recognize other groups who are engaged in valuable and important community outreach efforts such as we are ourselves, and Not-Me! is certainly one such organization. A fellow non-profit working in the same communities, on many of the same problems we recognize, we are happy to count Not-Me! as a valued partner and an important friend." In recognizing Not-Me! as a partner organization, TMAA will actively promote and recommend the Not-Me! training program to our supporters in the Massachusetts and North East area of the US. In turn, Not-Me! will actively promote our own EZ-Defense With Pride training in California and the West Coast area of the US. "This is a wonderful association for TMAA and we are very excited to share ideas, initiatives, and resources with the Not-Me! organization for many years to come" commented Grand Master Ken Craig, President of TMAA. "We always welcome organizations and individuals who work in the same communities, with the same goals that we share to contact us and work alongside us on this journey. Not-Me! did this and after careful consideration our Instructors Council unanimously voted to partner with them for the mutual benefit of both organizations. I sincerely hope this is the first of many such partners TMAA is able to recognize in the years to come." Check out more about Not-Me! at www.Not-Me.org or contact them at (781) 643.1499.
