ASK THE MASTER LAUNCHED ON GAY DOT COM & PLANET OUT   PDF  E-mail

In a trend setting development for the martial arts community in general, TMAA recently launched a unique "Ask The Master" feature on the permier and extremely popular Gay.Com and PlanetOut web sites. The feature will provide information, guidance, tips and techniques on general self-defense and safety topics while also allowing readers to send in their questions for Grand Master Ken Craig, President of TMAA, to answer in the feature on a monthly basis.

"This is an exciting development for us and a wonderful way to expand out reach beyond our regular martial arts classes within San Francisco" commented Grand Master Craig. "Gay.Com and PlanetOut are incredibly important and popular sites within the LGBTQQI community and their support and encouragement for this feature is greatly appreciated and valued."

Edited and produced by Lord Martine of Gloss Magazine, "Ask The Master" will run each month on both web sites and will address different areas of general self-defense concepts as well as focusing on some specific concerns which may be relevant at the time of going to publication.

"We hope this feature will generate a dialogue within our community on the subject of self-defense, safety, and participation in organizations and groups such as our own" continued Grand Master Craig. "We offer much more than simply training or a sporting passtime at TMAA. We offer a supportive, encouraging, welcoming social group and a valuable and committed community support organization that makes a real impact and difference within the San Francisco/Bay Area. We'd like to see that expand to other areas of the US and ultimately around the world. These features will undoubtedly be a very positive stepping stone to achieving this."

TMAA had a prior feature article on both web sites called "Ways Of The Peaceful Warriors" which was well received by the readership in November of 2007. The Gay.Com, PlanetOut, and Gloss Magazine outlets have shown a significant interest in TMAA and our many endeavors and this helped to garner the interest of LOGO TV who recently shot film that will be produced into a documentary feature for their "Be Real" series set to air in late April.

"We are slowly raising our national visibility" notes Master Mike Pierce, US Public Relations Officer for TMAA. "It has taken us ten years, but we are finally at a place where credible and important media outlets with national access are taking and interest in talking to us, featuring us, and talking about us. Our local print media has been wonderful over the last ten years, and recently Energy 92.7 FM has been very supportive also, but if we are going to expand our mesasge and establish Triangle Clubs in other parts of the country, we really need this access to national coverage."
