TRIANGLE MARTIAL ARTS ASSOCIATION ANNUAL STUDENTS REPORT CARD Results Compiled 1st Quarter of 2008 Each year in association with our annual demographic survey, we ask our active students to rate how well we are doing in their opinion. This forms part of our general annual report card which is used to determine how well we are meeting our students needs and expectations, how well we are achieving our program goals, and what adjustments we should make to emphasis or focus on particular areas of attention. Consistent with prior report cards, this years results reflect the overwhelmingly positive impression that TMAA makes on almost everyone who joins us, connects with us, or interacts with us with 100% of respondents grading TMAA as above average or excellent overall. That is something everyone at TMAA can be very proud of, from the most novice new student to the most senior master instructor. Everyone involved in active training at TMAA is also actively engaged in supporting our non-profit outreach mission to the community at large, and those who provide additional assistance and support by taking on roles as officers or instructors deserve additional recognition and congratulations. The survey asked six very generalized questions and asked responding active students to grade TMAA in a five grade scale from very poor, to excellent. The results are as follows: QUESTION ASKED Very Poor Poor Average Above Av Excellent Avail of classes 0% 0% 7.4% 51.9% 40.7% Value for money 0% 0% 3.7% 18.5% 77.8% Quality of instruction 0% 0% 3.7% 29.6% 66.7% Our Instructors 0% 0% 0% 25.9% 74.1% Extra-curricular activities 0% 0% 18.5% 51.9% 29.6% Overall TMAA Grade 0% 0% 0% 37.0% 63.0% When asked what responding students MOST LIKED and MOST DISLIKED about TMAA, the following written responses were received from a percentage of the respondents above: o MOST LIKE: Friendly, relaxed atmosphere in class, patient and motivated teacher. "This is an excellent report card for this year" notes Grand Master Ken Craig, President of TMAA "although we'd love to change those average opinions to more favorable ones. We want to exceed expectations in every area of our operations and activities, and we will most certainly look at those areas we can make positive changes in, such as our extra curricular activities." As an entirely unpaid, volunteer led organization, there are limits and restrictions in staffing and funding which do not allow TMAA to meet every possible need and desire. "We would love to own our own training space so that we could offer a greater variety of class times and opportunities. We would love to have enough funding to pay three or four full time instructors and a couple of support staff personnel. I think we are doing amazing things at the moment with the little funding we do receive, but there is always room for improvement and we will look at the results of our report card with a view to seeing where adjustments can be made." As always, thank you to everyone who supports TMAA in its mission and goals. |
