TMAA is committed to the following events in the coming few months. For more information on any of these events, please contact your instructor, your regional TMAA representative, or info@TriangleMAA.org

Note that some events may change due to circumstances beyond our control. We always suggest checking in with us prior to attending any event listed to ensure the location, time, and event remain unchanged.

 

 

AUGUST 2008

 

08/01 to 08/03/2008 - SF-CA: TRIANGLE GAMES 20 AND MARTIAL ARTS GALA - Three days of fun, friendship, martial arts games, seminars, and information exchange beginning on Friday 8/1 with orientation plus player and officials certification. Saturday will include Triangle Games 20 and a celebratory dinner in the evening. Sunday will be filled with martial arts seminars by local instructors in a variety of subjects.

08/10/2008 - SF-CA: YONGCHUL-DO WEAPONS SEMINAR #5 - 10:00am - 3:00PM - Our 5th in the series of YongChul-Do certification seminars deals with the Kama and reviews all previous weapons. Black belt holders and Demonstration Team Members are invited and encourage to attend.

08/15/2008 - SF-CA: COMMUNITY SELF-DEFENSE SEMINAR - 7:00PM - 9:30PM - A FREE community beginners self-defense seminar held at Eureka Valley Recreation Center, 100 Collingwood Street, San Francisco CA 94114. This is an easy going, fun, low impact seminar that is open to absolutely anyone 18 years or older. We suggest a $20 donation at the door, but no-one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please do pre-register to ensure a place in this popular seminar by e-mailing info@TriangleMAA.org.  

08/16/2008 - SF-CA: FLYER HANDOUT PROMOTION:  1:00PM - 3:00PM - Promotional flyer handout at the corner of 18th and Castro Street in San Francisco.  Drop by and say hi to our students and instructors, and receive information on how to join our many program offerings.

08/29/2008 - SF-CA: CHAPTER COLOR BELT ADVANCEMENT:  7:00pm - 9:30pm - Eureka Valley Recreation Center, 100 Collingwood Street, San Francisco CA 94107. Eligible color belt students will test for rank advancement in an examination that will challenge them mentally, physically, and spiritually. Guests are most welcome to attend and observe.

 

SEPTEMBER 2008

 

 

 

09/09/2008 - SF-CA:  CCOP PATROL VOLUNTEER TRAINING CLASS - 7:00pm - 8:30pm - Castro Community Room, Castro & 18th Streets, San Francisco, CA 94114. TMAA supports Castro Community On Patrol by conducting training classes for new patrol volunteers. To register and become a "Community Hero" contact Training@CastroPatrol.org or www.CastroPatrol.org.

09/28/2008 - SF-CA:  FOLSOM STREET FAIR:  9:00am - 9:00pm - 6 blocks of Folsom Streets from 6th to 12th. In support of Folsom Street Events, students and friends of TMAA will provide volunteer support to this event by working donation gates, security, set up, and tear down functions. TMAA is a beneficiary of this adult themed leather and S&M public activity.

 

OCTOBER 2008

 

10/05/2008 - SF-CA:  CASTRO STREET FAIR:  9:00am - 6:00pm TMAA will host an information booth and will conduct a Community Action Team (CAT) program event in support of the organizers of this arts and crafts fair by providing security and donations transport from the entry gates to the main counting station.

10/18/2009 - SF-CA:  NERT CITY WIDE DRILL:  9:00am - 1:00pm - The San Francisco Fire Department Neighborhood Emergency Response Team will conduct a city wide emergency response drill to help prepare citizen responders for the next major earthquake that will hit the city of San Francisco at some point in the future. "It's not a matter of 'if' but rather 'when'" and being prepated and trained is essential to survival. TMAA supports these events in association with Castro Community on Patrol.

NOVEMBER 2008

 

11/01/2008 - SF-CA:  BLACK BELT ADVANCEMENT EXAM:  1:00pm - 5:00pm - Hwa Rang Kwan Martial Arts, 371  5th Street, San Francisco, CA 94107.  Four candidates from TMAA and a number of other candidates from other schools will test for advancement to 1st degree black belt or beyond in TMAA's 19th Dan Examination.  Spectators are most welcome to attend and cheer on the testing candidates.

11/08/2008 - SF-CA:  TMAA'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY:  6:00pm - 9:00pm location to be announced in San Francisco. Join us to celebrate TMAA's 10th anniversary birthday with food, awards, and fun. We're inviting all of our former honorary black belt recipients to join us, and all of our former students to help us mark this passage of time with good memories and excellent company.

11/15/2008 - SF-CA:  CASTRO PATROL TRAINING CLASS:  2:00pm - 4:00pm - As part of our Community Action Team (CAT) program, TMAA will conduct a new volunteer training class on behalf of the Castro Community on Patrol (CCOP) to certify new walking patrol volunteers. Anyone who can walk, use a cell phone, see well enough in the dark, and has a couple of hours a month to dedicated to this worthwhile cause can become a CCOP patrol volunteer.
