INTRODUCTION

The force of the enemy is the only means by which that enemy is overcome. This is the principal concept of Jiu-Jitsu which literally means "to conquer by yielding."

The art fo Jiu-Jitsu teaches you to rely for victory solely on the strenthr of your opponent, and the greater their strength, the worse it is for them. Utilizing throws, sweeps, pins, controls, re-direction, locks, and bars, Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling art that was first employed by the Samurai class in Japan as a means of unarmed defense and a supplement to their swordsmanship skills.

STUDENT DEMOGRAPHICS

As with all Triangle disciplines, Triangle Jiu-Jitsu is designed for and available to everyone. Physical limitations must be overcome in a defensive situation to mount a reasonable self-protection, and thus we modify our classes and techniques to work to the maximum ability of each student.

The system itself is relatively non-physical in terms or running or jumping, however as with most martial art systems there is a certain physicality to the techniques employed especially at the intermediate level and above.

Triangle Jiu-Jitsu is an excellent discipline to learn on its own, and it is a very complimentary discpline to study alongside the 'harder' arts such as Karate Do, TaeKwon Do, Kung Fu etc.
