Recognizing that instructors are a significant and vital element in the development of a martial arts club or association, TMAA will create, promote, and manage a program of instructor training, certification, and continuing education.

Certification curriculum will be established and implemented in a similar manner to university degree courses. Credits will be accumulated in specified topics leading toward a final examination for recognition of certification.  Certification candidates will pay for the course materials required for each credit. 

The certification levels to be offered shall be:

• Associate Instructor of the Martial Arts   (AMA)
• Instructor of the Martial Arts   (IMA)
• Senior Instructor of the Martial Arts   (SMA)
• Master Instructor of the Martial Arts   (MMA)
• Professor of the Martial Arts   (PMA)
