INTRODUCTION

Hap Moosa Ki Do is an art of skill, technical excellence, and subtlety. With time, patience, and constant practice you will find that the techniques will become increasingly easy to apply forcefully and effectively.

Hap Moosa Ki Do translated means roughly the way (Do) of coordinating or harmonizing (Hap) warrior (Moosa) energy (Ki).  HapMoosaKi-Do utilizes the opponents energy against them, to control and mitigate their attacks through re-direction, and the skillful application of force and control techniques against joints and pressure points to disable or destroy them.

Hap Ki Do, from which HapMoosaKi-Do is derived, is first found in wall paintings and cave markings dating from the Three Kingdom era of Korea (circa. 57 B.C. to 688 A.D.)  The Hwa Rang Do (flowering youth) warriors of the Silla dynasty were known to use Hap Ki Do techniques amongst many others during their training.

HapMoosaKi-Do is an adaptation of traditional Hap Ki Do with the inclusion of additional techniques, conepts, and training philosophies not regularly found within many other Hap Ki Do programs.

STUDENT DEMOGRAPHICS

As with all Triangle disciplines, Triangle HapMoosaKi-Do is designed for and available to everyone. Physical limitations must be overcome in a defensive situation to mount a reasonable self-protection, and thus we modify our classes and techniques to work to the maximum ability of each student.

The system itself is relatively non-physical in terms or running or jumping, however as with most martial art systems there is a certain physicality to the techniques employed especially at the intermediate level and above.

Triangle HapMoosaKi-Do is an excellent discipline to learn on its own, and it is a very complimentary discpline to study alongside the 'harder' arts such as Karate Do, TaeKwon Do, Kung Fu etc.
