As well as developing our own non-profit, community benefit message, we firmly believe that we should not only support but actively participate in supporting other community groups and efforts that benefit the community in general, or our target groups in particular. As such TMAA seeks relationships, affiliations, and collaboration with other like-minded organizations with a view to developing strong, long lasting, and mutually beneficial ties.

As a brief example of our Community Action actiities, we:

  >  SF - Castro Community On Patrol - Functionally run volunteer training for the San Francsico based Castro Community on Patrol. This is a community safety walking patrol that is supported by the Mayors office, San Francisco Police Department, and numerous community groups. CCOP began in 2006 and is a non-profit community benefit organization.

  >  SF - Pink Saturday - We provide additional safety security to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at their annual Pink Saturday street party on the evening prior to the San Francisco Pride Parade.  The Sisters are a non-profit community benefit organization that raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for a number of excellent causes.

  >  SF - Castro Street Fair - We provide security for the transfer of gate donations to the central countilng facility for the annual arts and crafts street fair that takes place in the heart of the LGBTQQI Castro Community, as well as security at the central counting facility itself. Castro Street Fair riases hundreds of thousdands of dollars each year for a number of excellent causes.

  >  SF - Halloween Safety Seminars  - In support of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence annual Halloween in the Castro event, and supported by the Mayors offfice, SFPD, SF SAFE, CUAV, and district supervisors, we provided a series of ten community self-defense seminars to prepare Castro residents for the festivities.  Halloween in the Castro raises thousands of dollars for a number of excellent causes.

  >  SF - Sisters Self-Defense - We support the incredibly important mission of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence by providing 'initiate sisters self-defense training' whenever they have a new class of sisters going through training. The Sisters do amazing work on behalf of many communities and we are happy to support them in every way possible.

  >  Participated in, and raised money for, a variety of other foundations including AIDS Walks, Wellness Groups etc.

  >  We support other community non-profit groups in their primary functions, such as handing out flyers and rasiing funds

  >  We engage in joint efforts with other community non-profits such as our quarterly Community Self Defense Seminars etc.

We engage in many other community action efforts throughout the year.
