Triangle Martial Arts Association is blessed with an outstanding board of committed, passionate, and involved directors without whom much of our recent success would be impossible. Our Board is responsible for the strategic planning required to achieve our associatons overall mission and goals. Largely focussed on the regulatory and operations aspects of our association, the board is assisted by the members of the Instructors Executive Council and the Executive Advisory Committee. PRESIDENT & CEO  Ken Craig
Ken lives and teaches in San Francisco, California. Ken also serves on the board of the Castro Community on Patrol and is a member of the Advisory Committee for the International Association of Gay and Lesbian Martial Artists. Born and raised in Scotland, Ken first experienced the martial arts when serving with the British Army. A highly sought after computer applications designer and project manager, Ken was able to travel the world working for many of the most well known fortune 500 companies as well as many government agencies. Arriving in the San Francisco / Bay Area in 1991, Ken fell in love with the topography, the climate, and the racial and sexual diversity and decided to make his home here. Beginning his formal martial arts career in San Francisco, Ken ultimately founded and continues to lead not only Triangle Martial Arts Association, but also its flagship club, Triangle TaeKwon-Do Castro Club, and Triangle HapMoosaKi-Do Castro Club. "I've always been intersted in philanthropy, and have been invovled in a number of community benefit organizations and projects over the years. When I saw the news coverage of the murder of Matthew Shepard I really wanted to do something about it, and was fortunate to have enough support around me to help make TMAA happen. We've done some amazing things since we first opened our doors in November of 1998, and I know we're going to continue to grow, thrive, and develop well into the future." Jim lives and teaches in Louisville, Kentucky. Jim works as a technical writer and has been involved in the high-tech software development industry for a number of years. His rich writing experience and corporate background make him a very valuable contributing member of the board. Jim also has the distinction of being one of only three sitting directors who have been with TMAA from the very beginning in 1998. VICE PRESIDENT & TREASURER  Marty Marcus
Marty lives and teaches in Concord, California. Marty works as an independent accounting consultant to the automotive dealership industry and is constantly in high demand within California for his business skills, as well as his martial art skills as a Grand Master Instructor. Marty's accounting and business background make him the ideal candidate to serve as our corporate treasurer. DIRECTOR  Chris Maden
Chris lives and teaches in San Francisco, California. Chris began studying taekwon do in the sixth grade with Master Chang Kyun Yu (8th dan) at Yu's Academy in Connecticut. He reached the rank of 3rd gup (senior blue belt) before high school began to take up too much time. He returned to taekwon do nearly fourteen years later with TTKDC/SF and finally reached 1st dan with TTKDC eighteen years after his taekwon do journey began. Chris in now a Chief Instructor with Triangle, leading his own after-school TaeKwon-Do club in San Francisco, as well as a senior instructor and officer with Triangle TaeKwon-Do Castro club. Chris also serves on the Triangle instructors International Executive Council (IEC) and is the Youth Empowerment Program (YES) International Director for Triangle. DIRECTOR  Mike Pierce
Mike lives and teaches in San Francisco, California. Mike is also a board member of the Castro Community on Patrol. Mike works as a personal assistant to a neuro-surgeon at the prestigious UCSF medical clinic in San Francisco and brings his considerable organizational and project planning skills to bear for the benefit of the board. DIRECTOR  Jamye Ford
Jamye lives and teaches in San Francisco, California. Originally a native of Florida, Jamye joined TMAA as a black belt in 2004. Jamye works as a team director within the non-profit sector and has invaluable experience and contacts within the San Francisco non-profit arena. DIRECTOR  Jacob Fisher
Jacob lives and teaches in San Francisco, California Jacob works part time in office management and administration positions while pursuing his artistic career and futhering his schooling. With a critical eye for detal, Jacob brings significant benefit to the board in multiple areas of operations and concern. DIRECTOR  Race Bannon
Race lives and works in San Francisco, California. Race works as a manager for technical documentation and curriculum development in California. Race brings a critical eye to many of our promotional documents and outreach efforts and is an invaluable supporter of TMAA. Amongst his many contributions to TMAA as a board member, Race is currently engaged in helping us develop on-line instructor training resources. |
